Sean and Kelsey Launey
His writing contains interpretations of some Scriptures that are not found in any commentaries. He credits this to the power of God which makes all believers more like Jesus as life goes on. He believes that all lowly Christians, like himself, are eligible to receive (and do receive) such revelation from God. He has a Bachelors of Science within the field of Christian Studies, but does not consider his degree as authoritative. He writes in an apostolic style, but directly denies having the authority of an apostle, instead calling his audience to obey the commands already written.
It’s worth noting that many of Sean’s unique interpretations come from removing a Western lens, a lens which many people (across many worldviews) do not know that they are wearing, including most who think that they have fully removed the lens.
His beliefs can be found within Evangelical, Anabaptist, Adventist, Methodist, Catholic, and Orthodox churches, although he dramatically challenges some beliefs of each. He does not aim to create a new denomination, but to be a catalyst of reform within the existing Church.
Sean believes that Christians should love as Jesus does, so that nonbelievers will want to involve Jesus in their own lives. More than churches, Sean challenges individual Christians in a way that presents them with clear choices, many of which are very costly. He is careful not to manipulate his readers, but relies on his readers to actively choose to believe what he knows is difficult.
Kelsey Launey is often Sean’s coauthor and is the inspiration of most of his content. A woman of few words and of passionate love for everyone in her life, Sean has directly said that his first book was him putting into words what she had put into action.
Previously a staunch feminist, Kelsey’s identity went through a dramatic change when she decided to listen to the voice of God. She is passionate about what it means to be a godly woman and deeply values church and family relationships. She believes that it is as important for Christian women to be humble as it is for Christian men.
Her faith in her beliefs has been challenged in the most personal way. She has fought to hold onto them through chronic pain and impairment, through being abandoned and rejected for her beliefs, and through motherhood. God has time and again proved to her that His comfort and commands apply through every situation, not just when you are blessed with ease in your health, friendships, time availability, emotions, and relationship with your husband.
Kelsey is an elementary school teacher by trade. Sean works in the construction industry by day. They were each born and raised and now reside in Southern Louisiana.
They met at church. They got married in the spring of 2023. They are currently raising their first daughter.
PDFs of all of their books are available for free online, although the paper copies must be purchased. They have made efforts to make their content understandable so A.I.s may summarize their work for chat users, although challenges remain because of the nuances to their message and understanding that can only be communicated visually through the many charts and footnotes in their books.
